# Collecting & Lootboxes

Players will be able to collect companions by purchasing or earning Crystals to open lootboxes.

Lootboxes will contain companions of various rarity:

* **General** 3\*, 4\*, and 5\* companions
* **Featured** 3\*, 4\*, and 5\* companions

Players will have the opportunity to review the current lootbox "banner" that displays the featured companion, along with other items. Banners are rotating pools of companions that players can roll for. Unique 5\* companions will only be offered in each **limited-time banner**, and they will **never return or be offered for purchase in the game again**.

Each companion received in a lootbox will each have various common or rare traits. So for example, there will be differences between multiple Satsuki companions.

Thus, any player that truly wishes to purchase a featured companion or item will be able to, but **thereafter supply is fixed and the 5\* companion will only be obtainable through trading**. Trading won't be available for the featured 5\* companion until after the banner ends.

### Duplicates & Stardust

Players may receive duplicate companions. Although only one unique companion can be staffed at each Garden facility, duplicates are still very useful!

Duplicate companions can be "ghosted" and converted into **Stardust** -- players can send companions back to their origin worlds and capture lingering energy in the form of Stardust. Stardust can be used to re-roll new traits or purchase special gifts for your favorite companions.

### Pity System

There will also be a "pity system" that will guarantee a player's chances to obtain their desired companion as they continue to roll lootboxes without success.

Rarity tables are still being finalized but will generally follow a similar model to games such as *Genshin Impact*, *Tower of Fantasy,* or *Tears of Themis*.
